advantages of RVPO

• You will receive RVPO for the entire duration of your studies + extra 180 calendar days.
• You will receive a visa for the entire RVPO validity period.
  
• You will be able to study and work on the basis of RVPO.
  
• You will be eligible for free medical services under the obligatory medical insurance (OBI).
  

  Kindly pay attention - you have the right to stay in the University dormitories only until the end of your study course, as indicated in your educational documents. Obtaining RVPO does not extend your stay in the dormitory beyond the term of your study period.

limitations of RVPO

• RVPO is only valid at the region where it was issued.
• If you work and study, the employment will be terminated upon expiration of RVPO.
  
• In case of your dismissal from the University or transfer to a part-time form of study, RVPO is canceled (ceases to be valid) and you will be required to leave Russia within 15 days from the date of dismissal.
  
• RVPO will be canceled if you stay outside of Russia for more than 6 months (in total during a year). 
  
• An application for a residence permit can be submitted only after graduation.
  

you may be eligible to apply for a RVPO if:

• You have no financial debt to the University (no debt for tuition or dormitory fees).
• You have no criminal record for committing a serious or especially serious crime.
  
• You have not been not been convicted of administrative offences within 1 year.
  
• You do not consume drugs or psychotropic substances.
  
• You do not suffer from one of the infectious diseases dangerous for others.
• You have not been subjected to an administrative expulsion or deportation from Russia.
  

 ​​IMPORTANT:  All the documents drawn up in a foreign language should be translated and certified by a Russian notary.

To get the state service for issuing RVPO, foreign citizens may contact the Head Migration Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region at the address: 10/12 Krasnogo Tekstilshchika st., letter D (2nd floor), or the territorial unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation at the place of registration.

documents required to apply for RVPO

• Application form (original X 2).
• Applicant's passport and notarized translation of the entire passport (for those entering Russia without visa).
  
• 1 photo 35 mm x 45 mm.
  
• Original certificate of non-conviction issued in the country of citizenship or the embassy of your country (for those entering Russia with visa)
  
• Documents confirming the enrollment of a foreign citizen into the state educational institution (an extract from the enrollment order, accreditation and license of the University). 
  
• Document confirming the payment of the state fee.
  
• Registration slip.
  
• Original migration card.
  
• Results of medical examination and mandatory fingerprint registration.
