Invitation and visa issues

General information

Admiral Makarov SUMIS provides the incoming international students with invitation letter for Russian visa issuing. The invitation letter is issued by the Federal Migration Service in the period of 20 days.

The invitation is made for the period of 3 months and is provided for getting visa with 1 (single) entry. After completing the 3-months period of studies you can apply for prolongation of your student visa that will become multiple-entry visa.

Application process

To apply for the invitation you have to send to the International Office e-mail addresses golovanovamu@gumrf.rukolesnikovaen@gumrf.ru the following documents:

  • The scanned copy of the first page of your international passport (passport must be valid at least 3 months after expiration date of the visa);
  • Application form.

Getting invitation

The issued invitation can be transferred to you in 2 ways:

  • It can be picked up by your friends or relatives at the International Office in St.Petersburg;
  • It can be sent by express mail (Express.ru) to your personal address.

Russian visa

Upon getting invitation, you should address your local Russian Consulate or Embassy for getting Russian visa. Prior to visiting the Russian Consulate please clarify the cost and time of visa issuing and check what additional documents are required for visa application.

Arrival to Russia

Please, remember that you should keep with you the migration card that you filled in and stamped on the Russian border and bring it together with your passport to the University within 2 days after crossing the border! If you lose your migration card or fail to come to the University in time you can be fined or even deported from Russia.
